Tips for writing an effective article for the students at GHS...
1. Know your audience. Know their knowledge level because people who are able to understand what you are driving at can easily adapt your ideas. 2. Choose a topic that you feel comfortable with. It can be a topic or article which feels good when it can help others that may have struggled with the same problem. 3. Connect to the future. Provide your readers with a glimpse of what is to come. Try to extrapolate recent events into probable future results. Here is where your credibility stands. If you are able to back up with credible resources and obvious understanding of the subject matter, this will become a powerful technique of persuasion. 4. As much as possible make your article short. Let your ideas flow naturally in clear and short article. 5. Use simple language. Avoid buzz words. 6. Make a connection with a current event or find a local tie to that topic. 7. Use statistics or a quote from a healthcare professional (required). 8. Use at least two credible resources for your information (required). 9. Write an attention-grabbing title. 10. Have someone proof-read your article before submission. Spell-check is great but won't catch all errors. |
