Coopertown Elementary School: Home of the Eagles!
Accelerated Reader (AR) is a computer system that is designed to test a students comprehension of books they have read. Each book is evaluated by the AR company to determine the reading level and how many points can be earned for taking a test. A books point value is determined by the AR company based on length and difficulty of the book. Each test will have several questions to test the students comprehension of that book. Depending on how many questions are answered correctly will determine how many points a student may earn.

AR books in the CES library are labeled with colored stickers so that they can be easily located. Each book level is identified by a different color. You can find a chart of these colors and levels by clicking on the AR Book Level Chart at the left of your screen. You will also find a PDF list of all our AR tests sorted by Title and Book Level.
This year at CES we have started a new Accelerated Reader Reward Program called
Wild About Reading
As the students read books and complete AR tests they earn points depending on how well they perform on each test. These points accumulate over the year and as they reach each point level they are entered into that point club where they receive a dog tag from that club, their name will be posted on the
Wild About Reading Wall, located outside the Library Media Center, and their name will be announced during the morning announcements. You can find a chart listing all of the book clubs by clicking on the Wild About Reading AR Point Clubs at the left of your screen.
